Swimming Pool Rules & Regulations

We most respectfully urge our swimmers to read and abide the Weekend Homes swimming pool rules and regulations so that everyone may have enjoyable time at Joy-N-Joy.

  • Proper ID is required for entrance into and use of the facility.
  • No person shall use the pool unless it is officially open and attendant on duty.
  • All instructions given by the attendant on duty are strictly to be followed.
  • Swimming outfit dress code is compulsory:

 

For female one-piece bathing suit.

For male fitted swimming trunks.

Cutoffs, gym or tennis shorts are not allowed.

Gartered short with zipper and coloured fabrics are strictly not permitted. Use clean attire.     

  • Swim caps must be worn if hair length is below the ear or in the eyes of male and female swimmers.
  • State Law requires all swimmers to take a soap shower before entering and re-entry to the pool and tub.
  • All persons are accepted to use the restroom before entering the water.
  • In the interests of safety, the stated activities are not allowed in the swimming complex such as: Diving – Running – Horseplay – Wrestling – Dunking – Pushing.
  • Spitting, spouting of water, or blowing nose in the pool is prohibited.
  • Swimming under the bulkheads is not permitted, see displayed board.
  • Any child wearing a life vest must be within arm’s reach and directly supervised in the water by an adult over the age of 18. One adult may only supervise one child in a life vest at any time. Life vests are available in the Pool area at no cost. Instructional flotation devices (swim lesson bubbles) are not allowed during open swim.
  • Children 9 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 in the pool areas.
  • Dependents under the age of 18 are not allowed into the pool area unless accompanied by their parent or guardian and can only swim during designated swim hours.
  • Children age 6 and over are required to use the appropriate changing room for their gender. If assistance is needed, please speak with a lifeguard.
  • Admission to the pool shall be denied for any of reasons such as: Intoxication. Not wearing proper swimming dress code. Showing evidence of any communicable skin disease including open sores, blisters or cuts, sore or inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear discharge or any other communicable disease. Children who are not toilet trained. Any condition or evidence, which in opinion of the manager/duty attendant would jeopardize the health and safety of self and others.
  • Please do not enter the pool if you are experiencing or recovering from diarrhea or if you have had any signs or symptoms of stomach disease in the previous seven days.
  • Changing rooms will open for usage 15 minutes prior to the start time for recreational swimming and will close for usage 30 minutes after the finishing time for recreational swimming. Upon room closure, all the swimmers must exit the facility.
  • A whistle will be blown and an announcement made to notify swimmers that there is 5 minutes left in recreational swimming. After the 5 minutes has passed and it is therefore time to close, the fog horn will be blown and an announcement will be made. At that time swimmers must exit the pool.
  • With the exception of swim meets, special events and disabled persons, no outdoor footwear is allowed on the pool decks including sandals and flip-flops worn outside of the facility.
  • Immediately report any “accidents” you observe in the pool or on the pool deck to a duty attend or management.
  • Food or beverages; Glass; Metal articles; Chewing gum; Oils of any kind; Abusive language or actions of any kind are not allowed on pool decks.
  • Smoking is not permitted inside the pool gates and pool area.
  • Nude sun bathing is strictly prohibited.
  • Lightning Policy – The Weekend management will require immediate closure of pool in the event that lightning or thunder is present in or around the area. The pool will remain closed until 30 minutes past the last visible lightning strike or episode of thunder.
  • The duty attendant of pool may close any portions of or the entire pool complex for any safety or maintenance reason.
  • Joy-N-Joy Weekend Homes management has no liability for use or theft of personal belongings.
  • Duty attendant has the authority to enforce these rules and may remove any person who violates these rules from Joy-N-Joy Weekend Homes.

 

Pool Etiquette

  • Share the lane! During peak hours, please circle swim (counter clock-wise) to accommodate for multiple swimmers.
  • Passing other swimmers: signal your attempt to pass by tapping the feet of the swimmer in front of you. Pass on the left in the middle of the lane. Watch out for other swimmers in the lane.
  • Share the lane with swimmers of the same speed and ability.
  • Water-Run or Aqua-Jog in lanes not being used by lap swimmers.
  • Keep Toenails and Fingernails trimmed and limit protruding jewelry.
  • Please dry off completely before entering change rooms.

 

General Information

  • During the weekends (Be sure to check the website for modified hours), members may bring children, of whom they are legal guardians, into the Club House Pool area. The guardian must be in direct supervision of each minor - i.e. in the pool with attention focused on the child - at all times while in the facility. Parent/child ratio should be kept to no more than 1:3.
  • Check out a list of that you can bring into and use at the pool. All other flotation devices are not permitted (including water wings, inner-tubes, floating chaises and others).
  • A minor may use the lap lanes if he/she has the ability to use them properly and is doing so. Direct parental supervision is implied if the parent is swimming with the child in the same lane.
